To ensure that the Accounting Department functions smoothly, efficiently and effectively, Accounting Clerks are assigned to assist the Accountants in their tasks. They are given enough tasks by their head accountants in order to help in maintaining proper accounts and documents. They always assure giving fast and accurate reports that are needed for better consolidation of works.
Accounting Clerk Job Responsibilities
- Assist supervisors and department heads in the accounting department.
- Compilation of documents and sort invoices, bills and checks.
- Reconcile bank statements, encode and enter accounts payable.
- Prepare for the vouchers, billing, its invoices and checks.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and other kinds of account statements
- Handle collections and billing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheet and income statement.
- Prepare monthly billing statements for reporting purposes.
- Compute and verify totals when there is a need for some verification of accounts.
- Verify discrepancies and resolve these with customers.
- Conduct research for General Ledger and reconciliation matters.
