Front Office Agent Job Responsibilities


A front office agent is an individual who works on an office setting and reports to a front office supervisor. He/she is responsible for carrying out a number of job duties and tasks, depending upon the kind of company and the size of the company he/she is employed at.

These individuals receive and greet guests and respond to their queries. They receive calls, texts, emails and reply to them in formal and suitable manner. Any front office agent must have good interpersonal skills and managerial abilities. The following is a list of the main job responsibilities of a front office agent.

  • A front office agent is responsible for receiving customers/guests/clients in the office and answering to their queries. They show them the office of the senior executives, if the need be and make sure that important clients are taken good care of.
  • Any person working at the position of a front office agent must receive calls, email, fax, texts, voice mails and respond to them as soon as possible.
  • He/she must keep a record of calls, texts, mails etc. and organize the paperwork which can be needed for future use.
  • Maintaining a computer database of clients, customers are also one of the responsibilities of a front office agent.
  • A front office agent is responsible for calling the senior executive on intercom and informing them about walk-in customers/clients/guests.
  • It is the responsibility of a front office agent to fix appointments, meetings, interviews and maintain a daily schedule of the senior executive regularly.
  • Informing staff members of the office about upcoming events and meetings to be held in the office is also a responsibility which a front office agent has to fulfil.
  • A front office agent is responsible for proper maintenance of the front office and making sure it is neat and tidy at all times.
