A hairdresser is also referred to as a hairstylist or a cosmetologist and provides various beauty services such as cutting, colouring, shampooing and massaging the scalp. Their job also includes applying makeup, dressing wigs, giving style, and providing skin and nail care services.
Their responsibilities also include: talking to the clients and addressing their requirements. They perform reception duties too like answering calls and enquiring about emails.
Hair Dresser Job Responsibilities
- Providing services such as conditioning, bleaching, permanent waving and straightening the hair.
- Drying and styling the hair with combs, brushes, straightening irons and with some other equipment.
- Trimming and shaving the moustaches and the beards.
- Advising and recommending the clients on hair care, about the beauty products and provides technical assistance to the individuals.
- Doing the cleaning, coloring, adjusting, curling and cutting wigs and hair.
- Attending the seminars and training for gaining the knowledge about the various techniques and products.
- Preparing and maintaining a cash register and updating the data.
- Maintaining the client records and fix up the appointments with the clients.
- Performing the tasks of the reception including answering over the phone calls and replying the enquiries.
- Maintaining the client record cards.
- Assisting the other hairdressers in shampooing and applying the treatments.
- Sterilizing equipments to maintain them in good condition.
