Many schools or educational institutions have a special cell which is appointed the task of imparting education and knowledge to those who are not at par with other students due to mental or physical disabilities. This special cell is called special education and the teachers who are appointed in these cells are known as special education aide teachers.  Special education aide teachers have to use different methods and equipments to teach the disabled or handicapped and have several important job duties and responsibilities.   • Special education aide teachers are responsible for working with mentally or physically disabled or handicapped students and understanding their disabilities. After understanding the nature of their disabilities, they are required to devise methods and approaches which would be effective in imparting them knowledge and education.
  • It is the job responsibility of a special education aide to help other teachers in teaching set lesson plans and assisting each student by giving them personal time and special attention.
  • A special education aide teacher is also responsible for gathering educative material and preparing extra data which would be useful for the special students.
  • It is the job responsibility of a special education aide to learn and then apply sign language which can be useful for the special students in understanding the lesson.
  • Another responsibility of a person working as a special education aide is to help students using the bathrooms for washing hands etc in case they are unable to do so on their own.
