Room Attendant Job Responsibilities include maintaining the rooms in the hotels, guest houses or other similar places. In addition to this they have various other job responsibilities. There is no specific educational qualification required for getting into this position however a person must be able to interact well with the clients.

Room Attendant Job Responsibilities

  • Room Attendants are required to stock the room attendant cart with all the necessary items.
  • Room Attendants are required to strip the bed sheets and put fresh sheets on the beds.
  • Room Attendants need to clean the bed side tables and other furniture in the room.
  • Room Attendants need to empty the wastebaskets or the dustbins.
  • Room Attendants are required to empty the ashtrays, if used.
  • Room Attendants are required to remove dust from the window panes, walls, doors, lamps, switch boards, mirrors and other items.
  • Room Attendants are required to ensure that all the light switches are turned off. He/She needs to see to it that the room AC, heater, fan and other electronic items are not switched on unnecessarily.
  • Room Attendants need to attend the customer’s calls and ensure that they provide the necessary items requested by them.
  • Room Attendants need to ensure that the rooms are swept properly and that there are no spots or stains left anywhere.
  • Room Attendants need to change the mattress and blankets.
  • Room Attendants need to sanitize and clean the toilets, shower area and bath tubs.
  • Room Attendants are required to wipe the shower curtain and change it whenever required.
