An audio engineer is a person who makes use of various types of equipments and machinery to mix, record, and synchronize music pieces, voices and sound effects. Audio engineers can find jobs in a number of industries such as music industry, movies, video game industry and even in theatre. Sometimes, audio engineers are also known as sound engineers.   • An audio engineer is responsible for communicating and conferring with producers and directors so as to understand the requirement of sound, its purpose, specifications etc so that accordingly the audio can be produced or reproduced.
  • Another job responsibility of an audio engineer is to prepare himself for the sound recording sessions by doing certain tasks such as setting up equipment such as microphones etc.

  • Another job responsibility of a person working as an audio engineer is to set up, test and adjust the recording related machines and equipments for recording sessions and live performances. They must also tear down the equipment after the session is completed.
  • It is the job responsibility of an audio engineer to synchronize and equalize prerecording music pieces, sounds, dialogues and other sound effects as per the video footage or recordings.
  • He/she is also responsible for using the control consoles while working.
